Carousel is a federal network of grocery hypermarkets retailing goods at affordable prices in Moscow and the biggest cities of Russia. As of today, the system incorporates 81 hypermarkets. The network operates in the format ranging from 2,500 to 7,000 sq m.
The hypermarket’s assortment features over 30,000 items together with the seasonal goods. The grocery products account for 70%, 30% – non-grocery. The proportion of fresh groceries in the presented assortment is 20%-30%.
X5 Retail Group, the second largest grocery retailer company in the sales turnover category of the Russian market, includes the Carousel shopping network. The principal shareholder of X5 Retail is Alfa-group.
