Martin Luther King Junior Parkway is due to get an injection of life when a new shopping center opened.

Rich Eychaner of Eychaner Properties Inc. said there have been several residential projects in the area, but nowhere for residents to go for entertainment and enjoyment.
Eychaner Properties is in the process of developing 300MLK, which will offer office space, retail stores and a range of restaurants. Although some of the restaurants will be new to the Des Moines area, the developer was not able to reveal their identities at this point. What has been revealed is that around 67% of the north building has already been snapped up by tenants. There will be four restaurants based on the first floor, an Anytime Fitness on the second floor, a rooftop lounge and bar on the third floor and patio seating along 3rd Street, just off MLK. The fourth level is still vacant. Two of the southern buildings will be used for businesses.
These facilities will be available outside of the baseball season, but during the season, around half a million people will enter the area, making for an exciting gathering place for visitors.
Construction is continuing and tenants are looking to move in by May, with the center fully functioning by the end of June. There is still space available at the center.
