Landmark Mall

Landmark Mall has undergone three phases of expansion without changing its core identity as a low-rise, castle-inspired centre, a deliberate contrast to the multi-storey format that later Doha malls adopted. Opened in 2000 with 30,000 square metres of space, the centre added 10,000 square metres in 2005 and a further 18,000 in 2007 and 2008, reaching its current 58,000 square metres.

Developed by Business Trading Company under the chairmanship of Abdul Aziz Mohammed Al Rabban, the centre is anchored by a Carrefour hypermarket and features around 200 specialty stores, including Zara, H&M, Mango and Swarovski. Circus Land, a dedicated children’s entertainment zone with a carousel and soft play area, occupies its own wing alongside a separate food court.

The building’s castle-inspired facade, with stylised turrets referencing traditional Qatari architecture, has become one of the centre’s defining features since opening. More than 1,800 parking spaces support the site, and Simit Sarayı, Paul and Casper & Gambini’s anchor the dining register alongside international fast-food chains.

Located on Al Shamal Road in Al Gharrafa, west of central Doha, the centre now sits inside a residential district alongside two newer competitors, Gulf Mall and Ezdan Mall. For a brand assessing Doha, Landmark’s low-rise, castle-inspired format offers a calmer, more contained alternative to the district’s larger vertical malls.
