Gemini Park Tarnow

Gemini Holding, the development company owned by rally and quad-racing champion Rafał Sonik, opened Gemini Park Tarnów on August 25, 2010, after 26 months of construction on a roughly 500 million PLN investment, becoming the largest shopping and entertainment center in Tarnów and the wider region at opening. More than 2,000 people worked across 100 teams during construction, and the completed property created 1,000 jobs. Gemini Holding has built its Polish portfolio around three similarly-scaled regional malls, Tarnów, Bielsko-Biała (opened 2009) and Tychy (opened 2018), all still owned and directly managed by the company.

With a Gross Leasable Area of roughly 44,100 sqm, the property opened with more than 100 stores and food and service points, anchored by a 10,000 sqm large-format Tesco hypermarket, Castorama for home improvement and Media Markt for electronics, all three of which opened two hours ahead of the rest of the center on launch day to handle early-morning grocery demand.

Martes Sport carries sportswear, with Kappahl for fashion and JYSK for home goods rounding out the broader tenant mix that has developed since opening.

That combination, a hypermarket-anchored format opening with three separate big-box tenants running extended early hours specifically for the launch, reflects how Gemini Park Tarnów was positioned from day one as a genuine regional draw rather than a purely local convenience center, aiming to pull shoppers from across the wider Tarnów region rather than the city alone.
