About this mall

Central Pattana opened Central Ladprao on December 25, 1982, on Phahon Yothin Road at the Lat Phrao intersection in Chatuchak district, Thailand’s first integrated shopping complex and the project that established Central Group’s “one-stop” suburban retail model outside Bangkok’s traditional downtown core. Many observers at the time doubted a suburban site would draw shoppers away from the city center; the venture’s success validated Central Pattana’s strategy and set the template for the more than 36 shopping centers the company now operates across Thailand.

A major 2009-2011 renovation by Girimun Architects expanded the property into former parking areas and lower office floors, bringing the retail portion to a net leasable area of more than 144,000 sqm, part of a wider complex that also includes a 30-storey office tower and the integrated Centara Grand hotel and convention center. Central Department Store anchors seven floors of the complex, with Power Buy, Supersports and B2S Think Space carrying electronics, sporting goods and stationery across the mall’s Main Plaza and Left Wing sections.

Zara, Uniqlo and Lacoste anchor the international fashion floor, with Charles & Keith, Swarovski and Victoria’s Secret among the inline specialty brands, while Tops Food Hall carries the grocery anchor. The property is served directly by Ha Yaek Lat Phrao BTS station and Phahon Yothin MRT station, giving it dual rail access unusual even by Bangkok mall standards.

That dual identity, both Thailand’s original suburban retail prototype and now one node within Central Pattana’s much larger national network, keeps Central Ladprao’s roughly 40 million annual visitors coming for a mix of legacy brand loyalty and the practical convenience of two rail lines converging on one site.
