The Avenue East Cobb has changed hands at the management level twice in five years. North American Properties took over in a joint venture with PGIM Real Estate in July 2021, and Jamestown acquired that management business in October 2024, taking the centre with it.
Cousins Properties opened the centre on 12 August 1999 at 225,000 square feet and a cost of $43 million. It runs to 227,840 square feet today on the manager’s leasing sheet, 191,829 of that retail and 36,011 restaurants, with more than 40 retailers and restaurants and 8,000 square feet of community gathering space.
A redevelopment approved in June 2022 broke ground that August and was unveiled in September 2023. A dining wave followed, including Giulia, Luga across 4,400 square feet and Tenku Sushi, all now trading at the centre.
The centre trades without a grocery anchor, on apparel and lifestyle instead. Barnes and Noble, Lululemon, Sephora, Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Warby Parker, Kendra Scott, Gap, LOFT, Talbots and J.Jill carry the retail line. Jamestown puts the population within three miles at 66,656 and median income there at $162,970. Merchants Walk, a Whole Foods anchored centre of 271,992 square feet in the same East Cobb submarket, sold to Sterling Organization for $93.2 million on 21 July 2026.
