Arabian Center opened on Khawaneej Road in Al Mizhar on 1 March 2009, built to serve the residential communities of Mirdif, Al Mizhar, Muhaisnah and Al Khawaneej rather than to compete for Dubai’s tourist traffic. The property is owned by The Real Estate Holding Company, part of the Mohamed Juma Al Naboodah Group, and managed by Al-Futtaim.
At roughly 56,000 sqm across two levels, the mall runs a deliberately community-scaled format: a Lulu Hypermarket over 100,000 sqft, an eight-screen Cinemacity multiplex, and Fun City family entertainment rather than the flagship-store anchors larger Dubai malls compete for.
A year-long, phased refurbishment initiated in June 2025 covered the façade, entrances, food court, parking shades and prayer and baby-care rooms, and was executed with minimal disruption to the roughly 200 brands already trading inside. General manager Wesam Aldora had framed the project as reinforcing the center’s role as a neighborhood fixture rather than repositioning it toward a different shopper base.
That neighborhood focus is also the mall’s competitive logic: Arabian Center sits apart from Dubai’s tourist-facing mega-malls, drawing repeat local traffic for groceries, banking, medical appointments and weekend family outings from communities that would otherwise drive well past it to reach Dubai Mall or Mall of the Emirates.
