The American brand will launch its first full-price standalone store outside London.
kate spade new york will open a boutique on the lower Guildhall this Christmas. Designed by Househam Henderson, the kate spade new york Bluewater store will have 1,600 sq ft and carry the brand’s collection of handbags, small leather goods, apparel, footwear, fashion accessories, and stationery.
To accommodate new kate spade store, Aspinal of London has relocated to a 1,300 sq ft block on the upper Guildhall. The new store is located next to Jo Malone and opened this month, offering the brand’s luxurious collection of leather bags, purses, stationery, travel handcrafted leather gifts, and accessories.
“kate spade is the latest high-end brand from the US to select Bluewater to create a statement store, following the announcement of the additions of Coach and Smashbox,” – told Robert Hardie, Senior Portfolio Manager at Landsec, asset manager and co-owner of Bluewater. “Along with other premium brands such as Michael Kors and The White Company, Bluewater offers a genuine alternative to central London,” he continues.
This opening identifies the brand’s fifth location in the United Kingdom. The company already has stores in London on Regent Street, Sloane Square, Covent Garden and Westfield, as well as in Paris, France, and in Oslo, Norway.
This announcement follows a string of recent signings of iconic global brands including Godiva, Coach, and Neal’s Yard Remedies. Earlier, Smashbox, the Los-Angeles based beauty brand, opened its first store in the South East at Bluewater, and global fashion retailer, Missguided, launched their first store outside of London.
