The Dana Point Harbor Partners consortium has unveiled new images of Dana Point Harbor’s massive $400 million-plus renovation project in California.
As part of the space renovation, two new hotels will be built on Dana Point Harbor, as well as upscale stores and restaurants. Burnham-Ward Properties, R.D. Olson Development and Bellwether Financial Group will execute the project.
The project includes brand new amenities for boaters, Orange County locals and tourists. As part of the project, Burnham-Ward professionals will add new commercial space, food service businesses and public spaces along the waterfront.
The new spaces will be steeped in green space and will be surrounded by walking paths and outdoor seating. Concerts and entertainment events will also be held here. Bars with panoramic views and a new modern food court will open on the roofs of the buildings. In addition, the size of the existing embankment will be doubled.
“The renovation will create an incredibly special harbor experience featuring the highest quality sustainable design, materials and four-way architecture designed to reflect the personality and charm of the community,” Burnham Ward commented.
R.D. Olson will build two new hotels in Dana Point Harbor – an upscale four-star and a budget three-star – to replace the current Dana Point Marina Inn. Bellwether Financial Group will develop a new marina configuration that will be equipped with new water pumping stations and other features that will increase the longevity of the harbor. The guest dock will be equipped for events.
The first work on the Dana Point Harbor renovation has already begun, and construction of a new parking lot for the complex will begin in early 2023. It is reported that the renovation of the buildings and facilities, which are more than fifty years old, is taking place through a partnership between the state and private investors.
