H&M signed leasing ready to start construction of its third San Antonio store at North Star Mall.
H&M started expansion in Texas from Dallas in August 2011, and since then has opened in Houston, Austin and San Antonio markets.
The retailer have an existing location in San Antonio at the Shops at La Cantera and new one at Rivercenter Mall.
H&M plans to open in North Star Mall in a 24,000-square-foot site following a $1.6 million renovation that will begin next month. It will be 15th location for the the retailer, and the company said that it “looks forward to continued expansion at the best properties worldwide.”
The retail growth this year has been concentrated on the food and grocery, service and medical tenants mostly. In addition to the existing stores, openings new have been few and far between. Having the city as an attractive growth market for a retailer on H&M’s level is significant, and underscores the attractiveness and solid customer base in San Antonio.
