The 4,888-square-foot store marks a key step in the brand’s expansion strategy for India and is part of a partnership between Foot Locker, Metro Brands, and Nykaa Fashion, which includes an online retail component. Foot Locker management marks milestone launch with local presence Foot Locker’s district sales manager Cherry Grewal, who relocated to India for the launch, shared her excitement on social media, saying, “One year ago, when Foot Locker announced it would enter the Indian market in 2024, I knew this was a moment I needed to be a part of… On October 19th, we proudly opened the doors of Foot Locker India, following unforgettable pre-opening festivities.” The grand opening was a festive event with Foot Locker CEO Mary Dillon making an appearance dressed in a saree inspired by the brand’s iconic monochrome stripes. Over 150 guests enjoyed cultural entertainment, and the positive reception highlighted the enthusiasm around the brand’s entry into India. Metro Brands excited about India’s growing sneaker market Alisha Malik, president of Metro Brands, emphasized Foot Locker’s aim to meet Indian consumers’ evolving tastes, particularly for premium, globally recognized brands. “The response to Foot Locker’s launch in India has been incredibly exciting,” Malik said, as reported by the Indian Retailer Bureau. “We’re thrilled to elevate the sneaker culture in India.” The store, designed by Design Matrix to match Foot Locker’s global aesthetic, offers footwear fr om top labels including Adidas Originals, Fila, Asics, Nike, New Balance, and Puma, catering to men, women, and children.
