The Saarbasar has been part of a large-scale revitalisation and restoration project in 2003. The mall has been transformed from purely functional specialist market centre to modern shopping mall. After just 20 months of reconstruction the mall has been reopened with a new tenant- and branch-mix. Themed retailers specialising in textiles, sporting-goods and home electronics are anchored by a Media Markt, Adler and Hettlage, New Yorker, C & A, H & M, Real. They are completed by seven medium-sized retail warehouses and 40 additional retailers, local specialist retailers, boutiques, snack bars, cafes for lingering, a hair cutter, an optician, a travel agency and dry-cleaner meeting our target groups.
There is a parking right in the front of the center with 1,500 spaces free of charge.
The mall is conveniently located right next to Saarbrücken Main Train station. The city of Saarbrücken is capital of the state of Saarland in Germany.
Buss line 107 will bring you directly to the center.
Traditional-attributable elements were integrated in the new design using warm colours and an arched roof. Being well laid out and having short walkways promotes time-saving shopping.
Novel customer information and control systems perform goal-orientation to the checkout area. Escalators and a panoramic elevator will easily take you to the first floor of the parking deck and the largest media market in southwest Germany.
