Paunsdorf Center was one of the first centres built in Saxony province after Germany’s reunification, and is still one of the three largest in the entire country. Originally opened in 1994, the centre began its redevelopment project in early 2011, focusing on fashion and a new, broader vision for its dining options. The centre has 115.000 m2 of space and currently features 180 retailers. The mall offer a truly special blend of lifestyle, shopping and entertainment experiences for the whole family. More than 7,000 parking spaces and a mix of cafés and restaurants entice shoppers to stay and enjoy their experience a while longer.
The centre is ideally located next to a highway, offers a variety of parking facilities, and also has optimal connections to the public transit system. It is very well served by public transport. Direct access is possible by tram lines 3 and 7, or by bus line 90. You can also reach the center by bus line 72 at the stop Sommerfeld.
The Paunsdorf Center has a one kilometer-long shopping street that is completely covered with glass.
Two existing shopping mall plazas are covered by fascinating lightweight, filigree (in form of diamond) glass roofs. Each consists of two barrel-shells spanning 14 m wide, set at a 45° angle to one another and merging in a flowing form.
