Crate & Barrel will relocate its New York flagship store. The mono store, located in NoHo, will close by the end of the year. In its place, the retailer will lease space in the Flatiron District.
The new flagship will be located at 881 Broadway. The space totals 35,000 square feet – 13,000 on the first floor and 22,000 on the lower retail level. The new Crate & Barrel store in Flatiron is expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2023. It is known that the company began searching for a new suitable space for its flagship store in New York back in 2018.
The company’s interests in the deal to lease new space for the flagship store were represented by experts from consulting firm CBRE. “Finding the right home to replace their iconic flagship in NoHo was a challenge, but through extensive strategic analysis, it became clear that Flatiron, an increasingly dense New York City furniture market, was the right home for Crate & Barrel,” the company commented.
Crate & Barrel is an international furniture and home decor retailer headquartered in Illinois. The company operates a chain of more than 100 stores in the U.S. and Canada and is also developing a franchise network in Central and South America, Asia and the Middle East.
