The new retail store layout is expected to be very convenient for quickly and safely receiving online orders.
The first simplified version of Apple Store, which the company dubbed “Express,” has earned in Burlingame, California. The company has partitioned the store into a wall with several windows. In the bank, visitors can pick up items previously ordered at the online store or purchase any of the accessories. It does not require an appointment in advance, as it happens today in some regular Apple Stores (although you will still need it if you need technical support). Entry is permitted only on the basis that there will be only one customer in front of one window.
If the concept is successful, Apple may start opening similar “Express” in other cities. And it will no longer be a blocked Apple Store, but independent shops, decorated in a typical “company manner,” using unusual materials. But so far, the plans for further development of “Express” are unknown. Apple representatives abstained from any comments.
To date, most of the Apple Stores in the U.S. have already reopened its doors to visitors. But in some of them, a visit is possible only by appointment. The appearance of the new format will significantly simplify the lives of buyers who have purchased goods online.
