Britons are significantly overpaying for products from European brands.

Guardian Money analyzed the prices of a number of world brands at home and in other European markets. As it turned out, in some cases, Britons significantly overpay for products of European brands. The research involved stores Ikea, Apple, JD Sports, H&M, as well as Zara and Decathlon.
It is noted that the biggest difference was noticed in the stores of the Spanish brand Zara, which belongs to the fashion giant Inditex Group. In particular, the cost of the same thing in Zara in Spain is 40 euros, in Germany, France and Italy – 50 euros, and in the United Kingdom – 50 pounds, the equivalent of 59 euros.
The Decathlon chain of sports supermarkets also has a significant price difference in UK. For example, the new Riverside electric bike is sold in stores of the French retailer at a price of 1,300 pounds, which is 1,525 euros. At the same time, in the main European markets, including France, Spain and Italy, it costs only 1,200 euros.
Such price formation in stores of popular European retailers may be a consequence of the exit of Britain from the European Union, which entailed additional import costs for foreign companies. In addition, retailers incurred new costs for additional administration, as well as costs and duties associated with Brexit.
The collection follows the recent launch of Zara's 'Timelesz' line and represents another step in enhancing its kids' division.
Initially, the sporting goods rental program appeared in stores in London, Glasgow, Poole and Southampton.
