About this store

Pet Lovers Centre Pte Ltd was the first pet supply store in Singapore and currently operates stores primarily in Singapore and Malaysia and Thailand.

Pet Lovers Centre (PLC) is a varied award-winning pet food and accessory retail chain; the largest in Singapore, as well as Asia outside Japan. Besides bringing the freshest and widest variety of pet food to pets in this region, PLC can be found practically in a shopping mall near you, offering one-of-its-kind services like professional advice from its vet-trained pet care consultants, on-time door-step delivery, and even online purchasing and online membership rewards tracking. They are the only pet supply store in Singapore that has onsite vet-trained pet care consultants. Centre is also an associate member of the World Pet Association (WWPIA).
Pet Lovers Centre was founded by brothers David Ng and Robert Ng in 1973. At that time, there were very few pet supply stores in Singapore due to sparse pet ownership. They began as a wholesaler but quickly moved to retail outlets when pet ownership began to rise in Singapore. Their first retail store was opened in 1973 in Shaw Centre. Greater company expansion occurred starting in 1995 when the second generation of the Ng family took over business operations, including establishing a presence in Malaysia and other Southeast Asian locations. In 1999, Pet Lovers Centre opened “The Pet Safari” at East Point Mall, which is a shopping concept that offers veterinarian services, pet grooming, and pet care products under one roof. Pet owners are also allowed to shop with their pets at The Pet Safari, and each location has a unique theme. They currently strategically locate their stores in the major shopping malls in Singapore as part of their overall business strategy.

Pet Lovers Centre provides a franchising service. The company stopped taking clients on in Singapore but is currently attempting to expand further into Asia using the scheme. The franchise runs some services to keep each store similar. It includes a single price model for all the products sold, a training system for store staff, so the same service is provided and a no-questions-asked return policy.
Pet Lovers Centre has 79 stores in the region – 59 in Singapore, 16 in Malaysia, and 4 in Thailand.
