Book Off is a Japanese chain used bookstore. The company was founded in 1991 and since then has had astounding success with over 850 stores being opened in Japan and eight overseas locations. The company deals in books, manga, CDs, DVDs, video games, used video game consoles, portable media players, and mobile phones.
Book Off stores is large and well illuminated making it easy for people to browse and look for what they want. In fact, the store encourages browsing, and this has become very popular with high school students who stand in the aisles silently reading through entire series of manga.
The company has its headquarters in Sagamihara, Kanagawa, Japan and has stores in the United States, Paris, and Seoul.
