Each store will cover an average area of about 5,000 square feet.
Tanger, a leading shopping center operator, will introduce five new Sephora stores to its centers this year. Each store will cover an average area of about 5,000 square feet, according to a company press release.

Expanding footprint
The new Sephora stores will be located in Tanger centers in Charleston, South Carolina; Deer Park, New York; National Harbor, Maryland; Palm Beach, Florida; and in the Phoenix area. These additions come alongside an existing Sephora store at Bridge Street Town Centre in Huntsville, Alabama, which Tanger acquired in late 2023.
Tanger’s evolution
While Tanger initially gained recognition in the outlet-center business, boasting a portfolio of 38 outlet centers and an open-air lifestyle center across 20 U.S. states and Canada, the company is now responding to shifting consumer preferences. This is evident in their recent decision to change their name from “Tanger Factory Outlet Centers” to simply “Tanger.”
Analysts’ perspective
Bank of America Global Research analysts, led by Jeffrey Spector, have praised Tanger for its successful execution of external growth opportunities, densification efforts, asset improvements, and strong financial standing. They support Tanger’s initiative to upgrade its tenant mix, although they caution that it will require both time and capital to achieve.
