L.L. Bean opened in the Mall of America

L.L. Bean, the company best-known for its Bean Boot made in Maine, as well as other outdoor products, is due to expand with its first Minnesota store in the Mall of America.

The new store will be placed in the 29000ft² which was formerly occupied by Bloomingdales. It will offer shoppers a range of casual and active footwear and apparel, and outdoor gear, including camping products, winter gear, kayaking, fly-fishing and hiking products.

The store is due to open mid-November and will have a three-day grand opening as a celebration. The store will open 120 jobs and jobseekers have the opportunity to apply online on its website.

The senior vice-president and general manager of retail, Ken Kacere, said the people of Maine and Minnesota share many similarities, including their love of the outdoors and an appreciation of nature, the environment, principles and honest values. The group is very excited about the opening of their first Minnesota store.

Not only will customers enjoy the normal retail offerings by the company, they will also be able to experience L.L. Bean’s Outdoor Discovery School. It offers a range of clinics, demonstrations and hand-on activities, such as archery, fly casting, kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding. This makes it easy for people to undertake outdoor activities.

Mall of America has worked hard to attract new businesses to Minnesota and L.L. Bean is one of those exciting companies they have managed to attract.
