The pop-up design integrates key brand elements, such as Cider’s logo, slogan, and ‘Pick a Mood’ collections.Cider, a fashion brand specializing in clothing for Generation Z, has opened its first outlet in New York City. The 2,000+ square foot pop-up store is located in the former Opening Ceremony space on Howard Street in Soho. The store will be open through January. Ringo Studios, which has worked with Glossier, Our Place and Bala, was involved in the store's design.
The store features the Feeling Cute, Feeling Romantic and Feeling Elegant mood collections and an exclusive New York capsule. Like Cider's online store, the store carries a wide size range from XXS to 4XL.
Based in Los Angeles, the Cider brand was founded in 2020. The brand is positioning itself as a "socially conscious approach to fashion" by developing sales through online channels. If the pop-up store in Soho proves successful, the brand will open full-size retail stores.
In 2023, Cider surprised its fans by opening a styling suite in London and an activation in Seoul. The unusual spaces showcased the brand's new collections without the ability to purchase merchandise directly. With the opening of the pop-up store in New York, the brand enters a new stage of development.
"As this is Cider’s first store in New York, it’s essential that the brand’s identity takes center stage," Fenco Lin, co-founder and chief fashion officer at Cider, said in a statement. "The prominent color for the project is red, aligning with Cider’s branding and catching the eye of the New York audience. The pop-up design integrates key brand elements, such as Cider’s logo, slogan, and ‘Pick a Mood’ collections, to ensure that the space feels uniquely us."
