Robinsons Land Corporation’s president, Frederick Go, has confirmed the company’s plans to continue its expansion
He stated that most of the company’s capital expenditure, about P15 to P16bn will be used to construct nationwide shopping malls.
They plan on opening Robinsons Galleria Cebu and Robinsons Place San Jose, Antique during 2015, along with possibly four or five shopping center projects.
The firm currently owns 38 shopping malls within the country and is due to open the 39th in Las Piñas next week. This two-storey mall located along the Alabang-Zapote Road is set to hold about 200 retailers, along with a Robinsons Department Store and Robinsons Supermarket.
Go is of the opinion that the economy will continue its growth into next year.
He said that the capital expenditure will also be utilized in the building of more office blocks, particularly for the business process outsourcing (BPO) sector. He said that this sector of the market is in the process of expansion and growth as there are several BPO setting up within the country and the trend may continue for the medium term. He added that the company will continue to support the campaign by the government to attract more tourists to the country, by building more hotels.
During 2014, Robinsons acquired two office buildings, two hotels and six shopping centers. According to Go, this was an extremely busy year for the company and he is expecting stronger growth during 2015 due to all the new projects in progress.
