Melissa & Doug toy brand unveils its first-ever physical store

The 1,600-square-foot store will be located in The Westchester premium shopping center in White Plains, NY.

Wooden and eco-friendly toy brand Melissa & Doug is preparing to open its first retail store. The official opening will take place on October 6. The 1,600-square-foot store will be located in The Westchester premium shopping center in White Plains, NY.

The first Melissa & Doug store will feature a wide range of products across various categories, including playsets, educational toys, baby and toddler products, and puzzles.

Notably, the brand, which has a 35-year history, is entering the physical retail segment for the first time ahead of the holiday season.

In September 2022, Melissa & Doug completed an update to its website aimed at a direct-to-consumer sales strategy. The site received a mobile-friendly interface, simplified navigation, optimized site search, and an improved gift search engine. The company promises to remain carbon neutral through the purchase of emission offsets.

The news of Melissa & Doug’s first store opening comes shortly after it was revealed that children’s products manufacturer Radio Flyer would be coming to traditional retail. The brand plans to open its first store in November at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, Illinois.
