Mill Woods Town Centre hosts 85 retailers including anchors: Canadian Tire, Safeway and Shoppers Drug Mart. An ETS transit centre on the eastern side of the property links shoppers to public transit.
Mill Woods Town Centre is ideally located near schools, recreational facilities and medical facilities. Amenities include: a grocery, a branch library, optical and dental offices.
Started in the late 1970s, the mall was designed to allow Mill Woods owners to have access to major department stores. The mall opened with two department stores: Kmart and Woodward’s. When Woodward’s Eaton’s moved in. After Eaton’s financial troubles in the mid-1990s, Eaton’s stores was shut down. In 1998, the Kmart store also shut its doors. In 1999, two large empty spaces were filled with Canadian Tire moved and a Zeller’s. The later became a new Target store in 2014, as Safeway closed and the location became a Co-Op.
