Erin Mills Town Centre is easily accessed from the 401, 403, and 407 highways. The Mississauga Bus Terminal is located directly in front of the main entrance of the mall.
Built on a land that had been accumulated by E. P. Taylor’s Don Mills Developments, Erin Mills Town Centre opened in 1989 then owned and managed by Cadillac Fairview. The mall was purchased by the Ontario Pension Board in 2010 for $370 million. Distinctive original sites at Erin Mills Town Centre were a large clock tower at the centre of the mall and a Cineplex Odeon movie theatre closed in 2000 and replaced by Old Navy and Sport Chek stores. The mall also had a mini-golf course which has been converted into retail space. A daycare centre was also converted to retail space in 2005.
Erin Mills Town Centre provides an upscale shopping environment for 277,800 young family households, with an average income of $115,600—far above the Canadian average household income of $78,700.
