Space released by the Auchan hypermarket drives the next change at Aushopping V2 in Villeneuve-d’Ascq. Nhood is developing the project for owner Ceetrus: 10,500 sqm of former hypermarket floor becomes 17 retail units, including eight mid-size stores, with delivery in September 2027, a new mall corridor and more daylight, and a food and leisure phase following in 2028.
The center opened in 1977 as Le Centre V2 and trades under the Aushopping name at 1 Boulevard de Valmy, beside Villeneuve-d’Ascq Hôtel de Ville station on line 1 of the Lille metro. Nhood counts around 130 boutiques and a catchment of 620,000 people, with Zara and H&M among the fashion tenants. The architects are Projex, Avant-propos and Pierre & Maurice.
Cutting a hypermarket down to let mid-size units is a reshaping seen across French grocery-anchored malls, and at V2 it creates space for fashion, beauty and home tenants that need more than inline units close to an established catchment. In the Lille metropolitan area the center competes with Westfield Euralille in the city center and with Aushopping Englos on the western side.
