H&M added the final touches to its first store in Sydney, which opened at the new Macquarie Center North Ryde.
This is the retailer’s second Australian store, the first opened in April at GPO, Melbourne. The two-tier space which it occupies will stock women’s, men’s and children’s clothing.
The 2700m² store is due to receive daily stock drops to cover the expected demand and will receive two drops over the first few days after its opening.
H&M is planning to open a third store at The Glasshouse in Pitt Street Mall during the middle of next year, which will stock homewares as well, and be double the size.
The country manager for H&M, Hans Andersson, said they had initially planned to open a large flagship in the CBD housing all their collections, but the plans did not work out as intended. He said they did not want their customers to have to wait another year or have to visit Melbourne to purchase, so they decided to open this store offering most of their collection.
