This regional shopping center is one of the biggest projects in France with 86,000 SQM of floorspace. It house 160 shops and restaurants and 12 medium-sized stores with panoramic views of the Seine from the patio gardens.
Description of the location and accessibility
QWARTZ is located in the town of Villeneuve-la-Garenne
(in the Hauts-de-Seine region), just 15 minutes from La Défense and Paris.
Its location – 15 minutes from La Défense and Paris, at the intersection of the A86 motorway and the
Seine embankments – ensures easy access by car and public transport (metro line 13, tramway T1, and
RER lines C and D).

Features mall architecture
Large curves that are expressed both on the building’s exterior facades and throughout its interior. Rest areas shaped like ribbons, a rounded welcome desk, furniture whose wavy forms ease the flow of passers-by: the interior design has been thought out to meet criteria of conviviality and attractiveness. In addition, panoramic terraces boast unbeatable views of the River Seine, Paris, La Défense and the surrounding area.
The façade is made from opalescent Danpalon, which offers amazing technical and aesthetic properties allowing play on different tones, depending on the ambient brightness. The façade can thus vary in aspect and, according to the angle of view, feature a palette of colours ranging from very light to very dark, creating an undulating impression. At night, the lighting varies and highlights this part of the building to continue the same wavy effect.
Planning
The project site is a single plot, triangular in shape: the base runs along Rue de la Bongarde, on the municipal boundary with neighbouring Gennevilliers; and the apex is adjacent to the A86 motorway. The plot, overlooking
the Seine, is separated from the river by Quai du Moulin de Cage (road number: RD7). On the town side, the plot is bordered by Boulevard Gallieni (RD 9).
