The main benefit of Domus is having a one stop shop to furnish your entire home.
Inspired by another successful MAB project, Alexandrium in Rotterdam, Domus accommodates 62,000 m² of leading brands in furniture, home design, garden supplies and accessories. In addition to shopping, Domus also offers restaurant facilities and lots of free parking.
Description of the location and accessibility
The shopping centre is located in Rosny-sous-Bois, in the Greater Paris Area, and significantly boosted the area’s commercial appeal and economy.
Features mall architecture
The architects designed a building in which open hallways and countless stairwells to speed up the process of buying furniture. Walking through the hallways of this mall is an enjoyable experience, and all this foot traffic means the floor tiles need to be extremely resistant. Domus' floors are tiled with Porcelanosa's Ston-ker tiles, known for being some of the most resistant tiles in the world.
This concrete, aluminium and ""glass liner"" makes a mark on the Parisian urban landscape with its impressive dimensions (400x100 metres). The architects chose METAL DEPLOYE to clad the outside of the building, the ramps to the top of the silo and to cover over the car park.
Inspired by a cruise ship and with a distinctive glass sunroof, the design makes for a welcoming atmosphere. Combined with a smart logistical layout and flow, this encourages the steady stream of visitors to linger long.
