American accessories brand Claire’s opens its first flagship store in Europe. The 1,200-square-foot retail space is in a prestigious location on rue Faubourg Saint-Antoine in Paris.
The concept for this unusual store has been developed by the brand’s new creative director, Nicola Formichetti. The Japanese-Italian designer, who previously worked with Lady Gaga, joined Claire’s in November 2022.
The concept for Claire’s new two-level store in Paris focuses on total immersion in the brand. “We want our customers to be inspired – through our products, content and innovative, creative partnerships, but most importantly through the shopping experience itself,” commented Richard Flint, president of Claire’s Europe.

The new format surpasses other Claire’s stores in Europe and is more similar to the brand’s American outlets. By opening in a flagship format, the company aims to show consumers the breadth of its assortment and provide a unique space to interact. Among other things, the store features numerous licensed merchandise items.
The store features a unique ear-shaped chandelier in the brand’s #EarPrint campaign and two special ear piercing studios. In addition, the outlet is complemented by a creative content creation studio located on the second floor of the building. Another feature of the store is the use of giant classic Claire’s merchandise as markers in each department.
As of early 2023, Claire’s operates several hundred stores in 17 countries. It became the eighth store in Paris, and the company has 260 outlets in France. In addition, in 23 other markets, the brand develops through franchising.
