The submission of plans for an extension to The Mall near Bristol has been done.

The owners of The Mall shopping center based at Cribbs Causeway, JT Baylis, into and M&G Real Estate, intend adding 35350m² of store space to the current 68000m². The new plans include 150 apartments, a new bus station, a 120-bed hotel, a 1500-space car park, as well as a foot bridge across Merlin Road.
Construction is due to commence during 2017 and the completed date is set for 2021.
Around 3000 construction jobs will be created during this development.
The director of development at M&G Real Estate, Philip Vaughan, said they believe that this is the ideal time to change the center to provide a better area for the northern Bristol community which has grown considerably.
He said the size of the development has interesting implications, both in its economic impact on South Gloucestershire and the general South West area, as well as improving on the current offerings on Cribbs Causeway.
