Verishop’s online retailer, created by the former CEO of Snapchat, is trying various ways to promote brands offline.

Retailer Verishop announced an agreement with Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield that will open 14 stores in Westfield’s shopping malls at once.
Verishop is a multi-disciplinary e-commerce retailer whose history began in June 2019. It was created by Snapchat’s former CEO Imran Khan and his wife, Kate Khan, who previously served as senior vice president at Amazon. Verishop was launched as a brand incubator to help consumer-focused DTC brands gain momentum and reach a broader audience. The experience of the founders has already helped the company to attract investments of $17.5 million. And the conclusion of such agreements once again confirms the steady growth of the young company.
Although Verishop is focused on e-commerce, it was decided to test the strategy of offline promotion for such brands as Ghost Democracy, Billie the Label, and Lett. It will allow not only to acquaint consumers with these brands and study their preferences but also to test another format of sales.
Shortly, eight stores will start operating, where Ghost Democracy brand skincare products will be presented. These outlets will be opened in shopping centers from different states, from California to New York. Two more stores will be located in Santa Clara, in the Westfield Valley Fair mall. One of them will be Ghost Democracy, and the other will be the first Lett store from Verishop to offer clothes. Both will be launched on March 3, 2020. As for the last four stores, the place and date of their opening will be announced later.
“Westfield is a forward-looking organization, and we are impressed with what they are doing to improve the shopping experience in the malls. We like their approach, and we believe that our products fit well with the brands in their malls,” said Imran Khan.
