The Grand Canal Shoppes is an 500,000 sq ft (46,000 m2) upscale shopping mall adjacent to The Venetian Hotel & Casino and The Palazzo on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada.
The mall was opened along with the Venetian in 1999. The mall has a Venetian theme, and has indoor canals where gondolas will take you around the mall. The mall has a few major national chains, such as Ann Taylor and Banana Republic, and many designer and upscale shops. Live performances can be found throughout the mall.
General Growth Properties acquired mall from Las Vegas Sands in 2004 for $776 million.
An expansion of the Grand Canal Shoppes was completed in 2007. As of 2008, the mall was seeing 20 million visitors a year, among the highest in the country.
