Harvey Nichols is a British luxury department store chain that was founded in 1831. The store sells top class fashion collections for men and women, beauty products, fashion accessories, wine, and food. Benjamin Harvey started the business as a linen shop at the corner of Knightsbridge and Sloane Street in London, and by 1835 the store expanded to the next door and continued to grow over the following years. The business grew, and in 1841 Benjamin employed James Nichols; however, after the death of Benjamin Harvey in 1850, his wife took over the business and went into partnership with James Nichols and the company was named Harvey Nichols & Co.
Most of the Harvey Nichols stores include restaurants, cafes and bars and the Harvey Nichols very own Foodmarket. Currently, there are seven Harvey Nichols stores in the United Kingdom in; London, Bristol, Manchester, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Liverpool, and Leeds. The store in Birmingham happens to be the most exclusive shopping center in the city. Harvey Nichols has over 200 top brands available at its stores, which makes it a shopper’s paradise.
From its humble beginning as a linen store in 1831, the business has built up a name for itself as a high-end luxury department store in the UK.
