About Beales

Beales is a British department store chain with 30 stores located in the United Kingdom, and its flagship store located in Bournemouth. The business was founded by John Elmes Beale in 1881 as The Fancy Fair. Beales is the biggest department store in Dorset, and the company is listed on the London Stock Exchange.
Beales was one of the businesses that were involved with the department store movement in the United Kingdom. John Elmes Beale was the mayor of the town, and since the beginning, the company has always contributed towards the community – a practice that still continues today. During the 1960s, the business began a series of expansions that allowed them to open and or acquire stores in other areas like Poole, Worthing, Winchester, Horsham, Bedford, Hexham, and Yeovil.
In 2012, the business had 13 stores, each with its individual character but maintaining the fundamental philosophy of customer service which has been the key to Beales success. The company also launched its online store in 2009 and offered a broad range of items and specials exclusively to online shoppers. Beales has a variety of high-quality products for women, men, home, electricals, gifts and toys.
