About this store

NTUC FairPrice is a supermarket chain based in Singapore and the largest in the country. The company is a co-operative of the National Trades Union Congress or NTUC. NTUC Fairprice was founded by the labor movement in 1973, with a social mission to moderate the cost of living in Singapore. From a single supermarket in Toa Payoh, FairPrice has grown to become one of Singapore’s leading retailers, with more than 270 outlets, 9000 employees, and half a million customers daily. Since 2003 NTUC FairPrice also owns a 13,000-square-metre Fresh Food Distribution Centre. The refrigerated distribution facility centralizes the distributions of fresh and chilled products to all the outlets in the chain. It is the first supermarket retailer in Singapore to build, own and operate its fresh-food distribution center.

The company operates in 6 different store formats (FairPrice Supermarkets, FairPrice Finest, FairPrice Xtra, FairPrice Xpress, Cheers and FairPrice Online), a Fresh Food Distribution Centre and a centralized warehousing and distribution company, Global Logistics of Singapore Pte Ltd. Beyond Singapore, FairPrice has also recently entered into a joint venture to open a hypermarket chain in Vietnam.

Today, with its multiple retail formats serving the varied needs and interests of people from all walks of life, NTUC FairPrice has kept pace with the changing needs of its customers while remaining committed to its social mission and its aspiration to be Singapore’s leading world-class retailer with a heart. Guided by the philosophy to do well to do good for the community, NTUC FairPrice set up the FairPrice Foundation in 2008 to focus its giving efforts to provide a better life for the community. FairPrice Foundation focuses it’s giving on three strategic thrusts – the poor and needy, nation building and community bonding, and advancing workers’ welfare.
