Kappa is an Italian sportswear brand founded in 1978 in Turin, Italy. Kappa is the name of BasicNet SpA, the Company owner of the brands K-Way, Robe di Kappa, Lanzera, Superga, Jesus Jeans, Anzibesson and Sabelt, active in the sports and leisure clothes, footwear and accessories market. It works worldwide through an international network of entrepreneurs, which produce or distribute the products. BasicNet offers to its network services of research, development, industrialization of the products and marketing. All the company processes occur only within the Web, making BasicNet a real “fully web-integrated company.” BasicNet, with headquarters in Turin, Italy, is placed on the Italian Stock Exchange since 1999.
The Kappa brand, featuring the Omini logo, was created in 1978 when Marco Daniele Boglione, young Sales and Marketing Manager at Maglificio Calzificio Torinese, convinced Maurizio Vitale – company CEO – to create a B.U. Dedicated to sports from growing Robe di Kappa. In 1979 Kappa (Robe di Kappa Sport at the time) sponsored for the first time in Italy a famous football team, Juventus. Apart from soccer, it goes into sports like golf, dance, rugby, sailing and even Formula one racing.
