Zara to open new giant flagship in Glasgow

The new monostore will be located in Glasgow Fort in the Easterhouse.

Spanish fashion retailer Inditex Group, the largest global player by revenue, will open a new giant flagship store Zara in Glasgow. 

The new monostore will be located in Glasgow Fort in the Easterhouse area. The retail space will be located on the site of the former Topshop/Topman monostore in an area of about 37,000 square feet. The Spanish brand is currently a tenant at the mall, but plans to relocate and expand. 

The British fashion retailer's stores Topshop/Topman closed in their previous location after owner Arcadia initiated bankruptcy and went into administration. 

The new Zara flagship will occupy two floors of the building and will offer an expanded assortment of men's, women's and children's clothing, as well as shoes, accessories, lingerie, sleepwear and perfumes.

After signing a lease agreement in the building the preparatory work for the opening of the store began. Moving the flagship Zara to the new premises will take place in the fourth quarter of 2023. Until then, the flagship store will remain open as usual.

"We are thrilled to be able to share this news and we know our visitors will be just as excited as we are. Our Zara store is extremely popular and we're proud that they have chosen Glasgow Fort to go even bigger and better, making it one of the flagship stores for the whole of the UK," said Phil Goodman, centre director at Glasgow Fort.
