The property development subsidiary of Bouygues Construction, Cirmad Grand Sud, is commencing construction on a €90m shopping center situated near Marseille.
The Prado Shopping Center is being constructed on behalf of Klépierre, the owner, by GFC Construction, another subsidiary of Bouygues Construction. The job is to involve in excess of 200 people during peak periods and will commence immediately, for a period of three years.The center is to form part of the creation of a residential neighborhood around the football stadium, which will include an office complex, hotel, health center and residential homes.
The tenants in the 23000m² center include local traders, a range of medium-sized retail outlets, a hypermarket and a department store. There will be two buildings, the main and the Michelet, which will open to the outside and have a canopy covering for bad weather. The outside opening onto the avenue will act as a shopping street, with entrances on the corners, allowing visitors to view all the floors of the mall.
