Dubai Holding, Emaar launch new ‘tech-driven’ mall, nearly double the size of Dubai Mall.
Dubai will update its own record for the creation of the world's largest shopping and entertainment center. Over the last decade, the glorious city of "all the biggest", including the record-breaking Dubai Mall, has presented a new project that will outperform all existing on the world market. The new shopping mall will offer 8.07 million sq ft of gross floor retail space.
The state investment company Dubai Holding and the development company Emaar are preparing to implement a joint project under the Dubai Square brand. The complex is declared as "a new era of retail, in which the boundaries between online and offline shopping will be erased as much as possible." Located in the center of Dubai Creek Harbour retail hub will include a Chinatown, a waterpark and an Art District.
Experts note that although the flagship shopping centers in Dubai are still well filled with tenants, they can not ignore the trend for the transition from physical retail to online. The new Dubai Square will be created to expand the retail space and include retail spaces that can be showcases and showrooms for online stores.
An innovative shopping mall will focus on omnichannel retail and new technologies. The omnichannel style shopping center will be supplemented by various technologies that are used in modern retail in recent years. We are talking about the use of mobile applications for purchases, quick payment solutions for purchases without cashiers, applications for barcode scanning and information retrieval, mobile payments and "order and take" services. The authors of the project promise that inside the shopping center will be created the opportunity to make purchases simply and quickly like never before.
