The European real estate company is remodeling its prime retail park located in the Western part of Bucharest.
West Park, which comprises 74,500 sqm GLA in the only professional outlet centre in Romania and three big box units, is strenghtening its position as an attractive shopping and lifestyle destination of the Romanian capital city. The scheme of the total catchment area of over 2.7 million people is aiming to provide customers with a wider range of products: especially fashion and household goods, including unique, high-quality brands present only in West Park.
The new marketing campaign of West Park has started in April following the introduction of the project’s brand new visual identification. It unifies all stores available in the scheme under a new logotype – now backlit and perfectly visible from the adjacent highway – with an aim of reinforcing the name awareness of West Park. One of big box units – Unit 3 totalling 4,228 sqm GLA – has been completely renovated and is to house a multi-brand Domo store inaugurated on the 2nd of April, which offers electronics, home appliances and sport equipment (1,130 sqm GLA), as well as Casa Convenienza store of 1,050 sqm GLA with design furniture and home decorations from Italy, which is to be opened in May.
“Taking into account the improving economic situation, we believe that the concept of retail parks – in which different retailers share one infrastructure – has a great future in Romania. We are repositioning West Park as a ‘lifestyle destination’ and targeting customers who care about quality, design and functionality – no matter if these terms refer to fashion or home appliances,” – commented Patrick Van Den Bossche, Managing Director of Liebrecht & wooD Group. “West Park is located just at the border of the Bucharest ring road, providing clients with easy access and large free car park, as well as guaranteeing smooth deliveries for retailers,” – added Patrick Van Den Bossche.
In recent six months, Liebrecht & wooD Group has also gained eight new tenants for the FASHION HOUSE Outlet Centre within West Park, including such brands as Guess, Mustang Jeans, Intimo, Cielo Venezia, Faith by MD, Nissa, Napoleoni and TED’s.
“Our concept of locating outlet businesses within larger retail parks has proven to be a great success,” – said Brendon O’Reilly, Managing Director of FASHION HOUSE Group – part of Liebrecht & wooD Group responsible for development and management of outlet centres. “FASHION HOUSE Outlet Centre is to remain an important magnet for West Park customers, but thanks to other units located within the retail park, our clients can also benefit from presence of different, non-apparel brands,” – he added.
Delivered in 2008-2009, West Park is located a 20-minute drive from Bucharest city centre and enjoys a great visibility and direct access from the adjacent A1 highway. It comprises the FASHION HOUSE Outlet Centre totalling 20,300 sqm GLA, as well as other big-box tenants like Kika (28,740 sqm GLA – the unique store of this brand in Romania, offering furniture and home decorations), Hornbach (19,960 sqm GLA – a leading DIY megastore with a garden centre) and Proges (1,340 sqm GLA – a store with home decoration items).
In total, West Park comprises over 74,500 sqm of retail area in existing buildings, as well as a spacious car park for 2,150 vehicles. In the future, West Park may be expanded with another unit.
