Fashion brand Gucci has announced the opening a new store in New York City. The retail space in the bustling Meatpacking District of Manhattan has been created following green energy principles. The two-level retail space totals more than 9,000 square feet. The Outlet reflects the Italian brand's signature aesthetic, featuring entire collections of men's and women's clothing, accessories, handbags, luggage and a cosmetics line.
The Gucci Beauty Corner offers men's and women's fragrances and decorative cosmetics on the first floor. The second floor will feature ready-to-wear and an area designed for private gatherings.
The new Gucci space draws inspiration from New York and Florence. The retail space is decorated with jade green rugs and vintage furniture in the boldest colors. As part of Vault's Gucci Continuum program, the store will feature artists and designers who will have the opportunity to repurpose pieces from the fashion house's past collections.
With the opening of the new store, Gucci is following its green energy strategy. The brand is the first in the luxury segment to receive Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification. To date, more than 100 Gucci stores are LEED certified. By 2025, all 380 of the company's stores will have implemented green standards.
