Among the tenants announced are fashion brands that will be making their first appearance in the market.
While traditional malls are losing popularity and continuing to close in the United States, sophisticated physical shopping is still at the height of fame in some parts of the world. In Israel, a new state-of-the-art mall, D.C. City, opened this week.
The complex, built by Kass Investment Group, is located in Maaleh Adumim, near Jerusalem. The center has a total area of about 46,500 square meters and will feature approximately 200 stores. At the first stage, home goods brands have opened, but soon first customers will begin to receive clothes, shoes, and accessories. It is noted that among the tenants are announced fashion brands, which will be presented in the market for the first time.
"There are big malls in the center of the country where people can come and have fun, but there is still nothing like that in Jerusalem. There are 1.5 million people within a 35-minute radius of the city, but there are no big malls here," commented D.C. City CEO Pnina Revach.
The new mall has an estimated annual footfall of 20 million people. The management company is launching free buses from Jerusalem to attract additional traffic. In addition, D.C. City will host various events and open popular restaurants. The launch of the mall is expected to turn the entire neighborhood into one giant mall.
Revakh expects to attract 20 million visitors a year. Free shuttles will be available to transport shoppers from Jerusalem. Several restaurants and events are planned to keep D.C. City lively. More than 250 artists will entertain visitors with art installations, juggling shows, musical numbers, and fashion shows.
