The corporation owned by Colombia’s banking mogul, Luis Carlos Sarmiento, has presented plans to construct the largest mall in the capital of Colombia.
The cost of the 320000m² complex is estimated to be around $500m, according to the director of one of Sarmiento’s construction companies. The design of the massive public buildings was commissioned to Chapman Tayler, a British company which specializes in this type of construction. The "El Eden" complex they designed will consist of more than 350 stores, 30000m² of food courts and 16 cinemas.
If there are no hitches in construction, the public will be able to enter the shopping mall during the second half of 2017. Construction is due to commence during early 2015.
