Shoppers will appreciate grocery shopping without cashiers and queues in the Amazon Fresh store in London.
Amazon continues to develop its concept of stores without cashiers. An essential step in this direction will be the officially announced opening of the first Amazon Fresh grocery store outside the United States. The new cashier-less store, where shoppers can choose products without worrying about queues and making payments - all of which will happen automatically - opens on March 4 in London.
London's Amazon Fresh is located in the Ealing area, in an area of more than 230 square meters. It is noteworthy that the new store will introduce Just Walk Out technology, which was previously used only in Amazon Go stores in the United States. It is a system of multiple sensors and cameras, allowing the customer to track with high precision which goods customers take from the shelves and put into baskets. This technology ensures the straightforward process of visiting the store - walk in, scan your payment card at the entrance, collect the necessary goods and "just leave," as the name of the technology indicates.
Another feature of the store in the British capital will be the fact that it is here that Amazon will launch its food brand for the first time. Under the brand by Amazon, Amazon Fresh will sell a wide range of ready-to-eat snacks.
Amazon continues to expand its physical presence. It includes the announcement that in addition to the London store, two more Amazon Fresh stores will open in the United States and the concept's existing store, two Go Grocery stores, and 26 Amazon Go retail spaces.
