Amazon finally launched in Belgium

Website is available in three languages - Dutch, English and French.

Amazon has finally announced the official launch in Belgium. The Internet giant has launched its own website, Amazon.com.be, and introduced to local customers a storefront with more than 180 million products in thirty different categories.

Since the launch of the new marketplace, Amazon is offering customers an Amazon Prime loyalty program and a range of benefits, including free next-day delivery and access to Amazon's streaming video and Prime Gaming service.

Specifically designed for Belgium, the site is available in three languages - Dutch, English and French. A separate virtual storefront has been created for products made and sold by Belgian businessmen. About 100 companies are represented in the "Brand Belgium" section, and the list will expand rapidly in the future.

"Building strong relationships with Belgian brands-big or small-is incredibly important to us because we know our customers love to shop locally," commented Eva Feikt, Amazon's Belgium manager.

The company announced the impending entry into the new market last year. It is noteworthy that the Internet giant was not able to get permission to work with the domain Amazon.be, which is already used by the local insurance company Baloise. Before launching its official online store, the company opened its own fulfillment center in Antwerp and created its own independent courier network. After the launch of the site Amazon promises to continue its active development in the Belgian market.
