16th Belgian department store to be opened by Galeria INNO

Galerio INNO, the Belgian department store chain of Galeria Kaufhof GmbH, is planning to open a brand-new department store to be located in the fashion city of Hasselt, in the Limburg region.

The store is to be situated in a top city center location based on Koning Albertstraat.  The doors to the new store are due to open during the early part of 2015.  When this happens, Galeria INNO will be operating 16 department stores in major cities across Belgium.

The store will contain a sales floor, measuring 8000m², across four storeys.  About 100 jobs will be created at this store.  The owners are planning to convert the property to meet the requirements of a modern city center departmental store, over the next 18 months.

Galeria Kaufhof GmbH has fully owned Galeria INNO since 2001.  The chain offers more than one hundred international brands for sale in its 15 outlets, which employs around 1300 people.  Galeria INNO currently operates department stores within 13 cities in Belgium, including Sint-Niklaas, Schoten, Oostende, Namur, Mechelen, Liege, Leuven, Ghent, Chaleroi, Brussels, Bruges and Antwerp.
