McDonald’s employees in Germany who are temporarily unemployed will be provided with Aldi discounter.

As the fast-food restaurant chain is forced to close quarantine halls around the world temporarily, many people remain unemployed for this period. An unexpected offer from Aldi can help ease this difficult situation. The companies have agreed that German McDonald’s employees will be able to work temporarily in grocery stores if they wish.
The fact is that Aldi now understaffed under challenging times; consumers prefer to save money and do not go shopping in large chain stores, preferring small retailers, and buy only what is needed. As a result, the discounter has increased the load on retail outlets, and there is simply not enough staff.
So the unemployed McDonald’s employees, who do not want to sit at home during quarantine, can for some time “retrain” to sellers and continue to receive a salary, which will not be superfluous in these difficult times. Naturally, the work in the discounter will be temporary for them, and once the quarantine is lifted, they will all return to their usual jobs in restaurants.
According to Holger Bick, a representative of McDonald’s Germany, this is a “win-win” offer, because people don’t lose their jobs during the crisis, and Aldi solves the problem of staff shortages.
