SM Aura Premier received LEED Gold certification in 2017, becoming the first Philippine mall to achieve the rating in the retail sector. It opened on 17 May 2013 in Bonifacio Global City, on land leased from the city of Taguig rather than owned outright, under lease contracts dated 2007 and 2008.
The name combines the chemical symbols for gold and radium, Au and Ra, which Harley Sy explained in May 2013 as a signal of luxury. SM Prime reports a gross floor area of about 197,000 square meters as of December 31, 2025. A Sky Park covering more than half the building sits above the retail levels, and the San Pedro Calungsod chapel, seating close to 300, opened on the seventh level in 2013.
The property carries more than retail. SMX Convention Center occupies 6,148 square meters across the third and fourth levels with room for about 2,250 people, Samsung Hall holds up to 1,000 guests for performances, and a 29-storey office tower stands alongside. Taguig City reopened eight satellite service offices in that tower in November 2022, including the assessor, business permits and licensing, the local building office, city planning, the treasurer, and the office of senior citizens affairs, with the Bureau of Fire Protection and the Department of Trade and Industry beside them.
Fashion is the largest category at 34 active brands. The premium roster includes Dior and Rolex, with Jo Malone London, Kiehl’s, Estée Lauder, Bobbi Brown, and MAC in beauty; COS, Fred Perry, Cole Haan, and J.Lindeberg in apparel; and Crate & Barrel in home. Uniqlo, H&M, Stradivarius and Cotton On hold the volume end, and The SM Store and SM Supermarket occupy the base of the retail plan.
Market! Market! sits immediately across from the property, creating a dense two-mall retail node within Bonifacio Global City. An IMAX house runs in the cinema block, and Timezone and Toy Kingdom cover the family end of the mix.
