Located in Markham, Ontario, an area with a high population of Chinese descent, Pacific Mall is a very popular location for Asian shoppers. Pacific Mall has incorporated a traditional Pacific-style market appearance with over 450 mini-shops selling a large variety of retail goods, as well as specialties such as herbs and ginseng, Asian fashions, flowers, accessories, CDs, DVDs, audio hi-fi, cell phones, prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses, furniture, toys and stationery, and entertainment.
Pacific Mall has gained a reputation for computer and car enthusiasts. In the mall sample the wide variety of Asian food and drinks.
This multi-use mall also has a clinic and dentist’s office, financial, medical, and travel services and hair salons on the second floor. Main floor corridors are named after streets in Hong Kong. Besides shops, the main floor also hosts major Asian-themed events. The basement floor has bathrooms, underground parking and other shops.
In 2006, Pacific Mall added 37,000 square metres of retail space, a luxury hotel and a multi-level parking garage. Plans were delayed until 2009 and opened in 2010. Expansion combined Pacific Mall and Market Village, a shopping centre with a North American small town architectural style. Together the complex has over 500 stores selling: fashions for children, ladies, and men, jewellery, cosmetics, electronics, video games, toys, gifts, books, music, fresh flowers, Chinese herbs and health food.
These malls have become popular destinations for shopping, dining, and entertainment, from luxurious brands to local boutiques.
